PROPOSITION FOR THE EU

Last weeek our teacher told Paula and I to write down some propositions  we would do to the European Union representatives to improve the poverty and exclusion situation and to promote equal opportunities for young people.

1-To create a fund for subsidies to long term unemployed people
2- to low down the salaries of the politicians
3-take part in NGOs
4- to force the banksto do a more flexible mortage in eviction cases.
5-To change fiscal policy (tax reduction) to promote the hiring of people under    25 years by local companies.
6-Give more grants to those students who can´t afford studying in an university.
7
increase in the supply of professional and high-level technical jobs

campaing activity

As our poster was choosen so we were responsible to do it.
The process began when we went to Kepa, plastika teacher, to ask him if he could let us material to be able to do the poster.
When all the materials were collected Maialen, Paula and I wnet to the corridor and started to paint.
Firstly, we made a draft and choose the colours we were going to use. After all that was done we painted our hands with different colours and stamp them in the paper.
During that time Usue an other member of our group was making the presentation.
Now to finish the poster we have to choose a slogan to write on it.

MANCHESTER !

Before the Easter break began, some of the students at the eleanitza project went to Manchester.
We had an amazing time there going around Manchester,Liverpool and a little town calle Woorsley.
During the trip we visited three museums: MOSI, people museum and slavery museum (in Liveerpool).
We had a lot of free time so that was a great idea because we could do things in our own like going shopping, cooking...

collectives in danger

During this term we have also talked about  collectives under pressure by the economical crisis. Like homeless people, emigrants....

Youth and voluntary work

NGO

OUR POSTER

Lately; Paula, Maialen, Usue and I have created a poster that we tought it was apropiate to encurage people to cooperate in solidary projects.
Our idea is simple but we think that makes people concious of the reality we're living.
Here it is:

This past weeks we've been working on a project related with the European crisis.
One of the things we had to do was to make a video to manage people to encurage in the crisis.
Paula ,Mailen, Usue and I have been working on that and made a draft.

being solidary

I'm not into any NGO but I wish I did more voluntary work.
the only remarkable thing I have done is to give food or clothes to thoose who are poor or that live in undeveloped countries.

MY NGO

Another proget we have recently done is to choose an NGO, write an article and create a poster.

Paula and I choose KIND SURF because we tought as we like surfing it would be good kwon about organizations related with that.
Here you have the article and poster:

HUMAN POPULATION GROWTH

We've recently been studying the worlds population during eleanitza lessons; and we have also been doing activities related to that.
Taking in count information we were given during the lessons the teacher told us to do a graph about the human population growth.

FILM ANALYSIS

we wrote a film analysis based on our work of Saudi-Arabian women. Even though this film isn't located in Arabia, it inform us about the discrimination women suffer in those countries.

FILM'S DATASHEET

FILM INTRODUCTION:

Dessert flower is a film Directed by Sherry Hormann in 2009; written by Ms. Hormann, based on the book by Waris Dirie and Cathleen Miller.

Main actors:

Liya Kebede (Waris Dirie)

Sally Hawkins (Marilyn)

Timothy Spall (Donaldson)

Juliet Stevenson (Lucinda)

Craig Parkinson (Neil)

Anthony Mackie (Harold)

Meera Syal (Pushpa Patel)

Soraya Omar-Scego (Young Waris).

PLOT SUMARY:

Waris Dirie escaped of a poor childhood in Somalia and became a model. Eventually, in a magazine interview, she told of being forced to do the ritual of female circumcision as a young girl( a brutal process) She became a United Nations spokeswoman against the practice.

HISTORICAL CONTEXT

The film isn't based on a specific period. It imform us about the female circumcision (all procedures that involve partial or total removal of the external female genitalia or other injury to the female genital organs for non-medical reasons) and the first woman who talk about it.

THEMATIC ANALYSIS

As we told before the film is based on the life of Waris Dirie, an international supermodel who began life as a member of a nomadic tribe in Somalia.

To announce the truth:

As it is based in a real conflict, thanks to the film people is concerned about the brutal pain tha are suffering some asian and african women as they are forced to do the ritual of female circumcision.

Differences between poor and rich people

At first in the story, Waris was poor and people discriminated her.But once she became famous and well off we can see that the society was different with her.

Immigration:

Waris wants a better life so she migrates to the UK, but once her passport is expired they don't let her to travel as a model. Finally she achieve this with money; so it teach us that the biggest influence in the world we are living it is money.

CINEMATIC ANALYSIS

Desert Flower" tells an extraordinary story in an ordinary way. It has a compelling message and surrounds it with biopic scenes that appear to be brought in from a different kind of movie. The effect is rather unsettling.

CONCLUSION

this film was recomended to us by a friend who is really into this matter. We find the film a little bit hard but it is interesting to know about the cruelties that are happening against woman in other countries. So this is the perfect film to think about what should we do to solve this problems.
